NBC-LA Channel 4: Let's try this one more time!!









After being pre-empted last night due to that CRAZEE car chase! I am giving it one more try and will be talking Golden Globes Red Carpet TONIGHT on NBC4 Los Angeles' Evening News at 5pm (most likely at approximately 5:45pm) with Anchors Colleen Williams and Chuck Henry.




We will, of course, be discussing all the fashion on the Red Carpet and as the Fashion Spokesperson for the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM I will be discussing all the trends and who I thought were the Best of the night!

Jessica Alba in Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2013: Another stand-out of the night was Jessica Alba in this "hot off the runway" Pre-Fall Tangerine silk taffeta gown with a mermaid shape and beautiful low back bustle detailing.

Julianne Moore in Tom Ford: Another one of my favorites of the night was Julianne Moore in this custom Black and White Silk Crepe (a BIG fabric trend of the night!) column gown with open back and beautiful draped detailing.




Julianne is always a fashion risk taker. Sometimes she gets it right and sometimes she doesn't. But that is what happens when you don't always play it safe. In this dress I think she got it right. There is just a bit of fashion forward risk taking while still being classic and elegant.




And her accessories were exquisite. I LOVE the cuffs worn over the long sleeve, the gorgeous earrings, the modern clutch and the pop of bright pink lip. Great job Julianne!

Emily Blunt in Michael Kors Resort 2013: This was a dress that I was a bit on the fence about. I love the silhouette and the high cut outs on the side and back, but the heavy gold Guipure Lace was a bit too much for me. I would have loved to see it in a gorgeous tangerine colored silk crepe.




The dress fits her to perfection and I do LOVE those Pink and Ruby Red gemstone earrings! Gorg!

Golden Globes Fashion Weekend Begins!







Yes, kids, it's 2012 Golden Globes Weekend!! I'm very excited because of course, this is the time when I am running around town fitting gowns for possible actresses/TV show hosts who might wear my NIKOLAKI gowns (crossing fingers) as well as busy doing my "Fashion Expert" commentating. One of my most favorite places to give my "Nick Two Cents" on red carpet fashion is KNBC/NBC-LA.




As the Fashion Spokesperson for the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM, I have had the pleasure do my pre and post-red carpet commentating for NBC-LA Channel 4 here in Los Angeles.




First up is TOMORROW morning: I'll be on the "Today in LA Weekend" news show 7-8am talking to anchor Ted Chen (above, left) about my predictions for Trends on the Golden Globes 2012 red carpet--and I've even done some of my original fashion illustrations to show how I would like to see a couple of the nominated actresses.

Yahoo! at the Awards gets "Nick'ed":






Well kids, it's Awards Season (!), one of my favorite times of the year (next to when the Haute Couture runway shows occur in Paris as well as when international Figure Skating competitions are on TV and well, yes, also when the Miss USA, Miss Universe and Miss World beauty pageants happen!)...I guess I have a LOT of favorite!!!







In lieu of all the upcoming awards shows, I filmed some fun segments for Yahoo! Shine--the Yahoo! site for Women's Lifestyles, Healthy Living and Fashion Blogs. The segments include awards shows red carpet and in particular, styles seen on past awards shows including the Golden Globes.




The segments are part of "Yahoo! at the Awards". First up are segments I did on "Red Carpet Bargains", in other words, looking like a Hollywood star on the red carpet, on a bargain--and also "Style Highs & Lows and Sofia Vergara". I had a blast filming these segments at my Atwater Village (recently won the coveted title of CurbedLA's "LA's 2012 Neighborhood of the Year" ) NIKOLAKI design studio--take a look at some behind-the-scenes snapshots I got with the Yahoo! crew:
